Set to Sea 70

The story so far…
A little later than I said, sorry! Thanksgiving was successful, and the picked clean carcass of the turkey is now simmering into a soup on the oven.

Here at Chez Maison Petite, we spent a good chunk of the day getting ready for a semi-traditional Thanksgiving. I’ve recently been trying to cut back to just eating fish, but Thanksgiving’s an exception. Yeah yeah, “And the turkey you festively slice.” Oh well.
I think I’m going to take Thursday off, but I’ll have a panel up on Friday!
It just keeps going, doesn’t it?
Eleanor and I had a fun day off yesterday! Just for the hell of it we walked to the strip mall a couple miles down Broad St. to read comic books at Borders and eat a crapload of sushi at “Ru Sans.” While we were at Borders we ran into our friend Robert – we hadn’t seen him or his wife Mary Jessica for about a month, ever since a demanding baby named Tommy took over their lives. Robert spent about ten minutes trying to convince us to go see Mastadon with him at the 40 Watt in January, then ran out again.
When we got back to the house, we cleaned the kitchen and watched old episodes of Pokemon I’d downloaded from the internet (don’t ask.)
Now back to work!
While we’ve been working, we’ve listened to like a million episodes of this podcast in the last couple days. It’s basically just the daily life of this geeky husband who spends too much time on the computer, and his bossy wife who runs all over him… somehow Eleanor and I really relate, ha ha. But actually it’s really charming and hilarious.
Tonight for dinner I tried making a Spanish Caribbean dish that was basically rice and black beans cooked up together, and is traditionally known as “Moros y Cristianos” – “Moors and Christians.”
Eleanor finished up a couple of her big projects and I’m a couple panels ahead, so maybe we can take tomorrow off!
P.S. Oh yeah, I’m so used to keeping mum about Elo’s various projects that I forgot I could mention this one – Eleanor’s made some toys for a show at Giant Robot San Francisco. So if you’re in the area, you should swing by and check it out.
Did you know that I’m one of the internet’s most popular references for handlebar mustaches? It’s true. Go to Google Image Search and type “handlebar.” I’m the first result. “Handlebar mustache,” and I’m #4. For a couple of weeks last year, our cat Detroit was somehow the most popular kitten in the Google Image Search. But now? Oh, fickle fame.
