Sorry for the chaos

on August 11, 2017

Comic updates have been a little erratic of late, and will probably continue to be so, as I’m trying to wrap up some book deadlines while simultaneously fitting in travel. Apologies! I’ll try to get two up per week, they just might be a little off-schedule.

100 Bellwood Drive

Meant to mention before now, that of course the Bellwood Mall is a little shout-out to fellow cartoonist (and Margo patron) Lucy Bellwood. Go check out her real-life adventure comics!

Fluke 2017

on April 24, 2017

Heyo, this year’s Fluke festival is coming up this weekend, and I’ll be there. If you’re in the vicinity of Athens, GA, stop on by! I’ll have copies of Margo book 1, and I’ll also have these exciting pins and patches that just mysteriously showed up in the mail! (Warning: By wearing this symbol you may be submitting yourself to a strange and shadowy world of the supernatural.)

For now, I’ll only be selling these at conventions, so check the little schedule in the sidebar to see what’s coming up.

MICE and other creatures

on October 24, 2016

I’m back in Athens! But I have to leave again shortly, because:

That’s right, coming up this weekend: The Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo, or MICE! C’mon out and say hi! I’ll be at table #A32. I’ll also be doing an all-ages monster drawing workshop on Saturday, and on a panel about kids comics on Sunday! I’ll be all over that con! Like, say… a mouse… on cheese…

I went on the very good “All the Wonders” podcast, to talk with Matthew Winner about developing characters for Margo, and a number of other things. A very odd recording experience, as I was still up in Lexington, where everything shuts down promptly at 5pm and there is no wifi to be had. My brother very kindly snuck me into his place of work at night (a college theater) and I recorded there!

And I talked with Hillary Brown for a print interview at Paste Magazine! Margo, old 70s young adult books, Gnomes, and more. Hillary also lives in Athens, strangely enough.

Don’t say I didn’t warn ya

on October 15, 2016

Fair warning: You’ve got about a week to read the entirety of Margo book 1 online for free! Next Friday, I’m taking down all but a preview of the first three chapters, and to read the complete version you’ll have to buy the book version, or find yourself one of the many pirated versions that have already started popping up  >:-\

Don’t worry, upcoming chapters will continue to get posted online as usual – until book 2 comes out sometime next year!
