Man, what happened on Sunday evening in Athens, Georgia? Something that looked look this:

Yeah, we took that picture when we both were pretty sure that any second the snow would turn back to rain and melt away. But it kept coming, and in 8 hours or so the town was under six inches. Northerners can scoff, but Athens doesn’t have things like snow plows or salt trucks. Our power went out around 4 in the afternoon, and was off till late last night. We went wandering around, and there were huge branches and whole trees down on every block. The entire sky would lighten and darken as entire neighborhood’s power lines cut in and out. But now it’s all melting.
